Fundraising Update

This is the final update for the year. The good news is that we have ended the year on a total of R15,418,961. The major donor side of the campaign, which includes a couple of bequests is R11,006,100 and the balance of R4,412,861 is from the year groups. My apologies to the year group co-ordinators who will have found my arithmetic wanting - I gave the major donors R15 million instead of R11 million.
I had hoped that we would end the year on R15 million so I am very pleased with the ultimate total. The total number of donors is 390 which is still my major concern. We will definitely have to reach 2000+ which will be the major challenge for next year. Congratulations to the 1990's and the 2000's who have brought in nearly 60% of the donations thus far. A number of year groups have requested that we publish how the respective years are doing on the website. I would like to do that next year but only once all the years have started contributing as I do not want to embarrass as there may be valid reasons for their late start. The co-ordinators of all the year groups have been informed as to the progress of their years and reminded of the target.
To all who have contributed thus far, my grateful thanks. To those who still intend to - and there are many - please do so as soon as you are able. To you all, may I wish you and your families a happy and safe festive season and may 2012 be a good year for us all.
