School Library A larger school library will allow for a much improved research environment in terms of books, journals and computer-based media. Research cubicles, computer terminals and reading areas will all be features of the new library. In order to utilize the existing structure to its maximum potential, mezzanine floors will use the double volume space to increase the floor area and will in turn allow access to outside verandas. It is hoped that the new library will become a fine centre of learning in the heart of the school.
The name of the existing hall will be transferred to the new library which will become the Abernethy Library.
Music Centre This section will house the school's entire music department and will include practice rooms for individuals and rehearsal rooms for ensembles. The self-contained facility will also feature a music library.
Mini Auditorium and Team-teaching Facility The conversion of the existing gallery into a 120-seat auditorium will allow the school to host certain musical performances and fringe theatre productions in this facility. It is also envisaged that it will be utilized for the teaching of combined groups (of up to four classes) within subject departments.
